Mike is also Co-Chair of the Sutton Business Improvement Area (BIA), and sits on the Georgina Chamber of Commerce's Advocacy Committee, which lobbies all levels of government on behalf of its members.

Mike is a member of the Sutton Legion, and has served on its Executive as a Public Relations Officer (PRO). He is also a strong supporter of Health Georgina, Hospice Georgina, The Salvation Army, Jericho, the Georgina Community Food Pantry, and the Good Food Collective.

Mike's support has been acknowledged with certificates of appreciation from The Salvation Army, The United Way, Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and the Grand Lodge of Ukraine for helping Ukrainian refugees settle in our community.

Mike graduated from a Masters Journalism program at the University of Western Ontario in 1992. He worked for CBC News, CTV’s Canada AM and TVO, and had a career at LCBO Corporate Communications for 23 years, working closely with three past Presidents & CEOs.
